Sultanahmet Square or Mosque Square

Istanbul's main square, is well-kept, tree-lined, and flower-filled. It's a telegram data great place to rest after wandering around the city, enjoy the famous Turkish ice cream, and take plenty of photos of the enormous fountain.

From there, looking around, you can see several mosques all around you, and if you're in the square when the call to prayer comes, it'll be one of those once-in-a-lifetime moments. It's not only remarkable, but it also makes you realize you're actually in Türkiye.

Nearby is the Hippodrome of Constantinople, Istanbul's sports and social center during the Byzantine Empire. Fun fact: the obelisk was brought from Egypt to enhance the city's architecture.


Visit Hagia Sophia

Also known as Hagia Sophia, it has been a mosque, a church, and is now a museum. The Basilica, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, represents one of the world's most important examples of Byzantine architecture, featuring Islamic and Catholic elements, such as images of saints. Its architecture is imposing and stunning. To give you an idea, it stands 56 meters tall and inspired the construction of other mosques, including the Blue Mosque.
